The expanding private jet market

You would think a booming economy which has minted more billionaires then any country outside the US, would be the ideal market for an extensive selection of corporate jets. Surprisingly, this is not the case in China. With fewer than 400 corporate jets, smaller emerging markets such as Brazil and Mexico have a larger jet selection.

The Chinese government has been the largest obstacle to grow in the corporate jet market. Until recently, there was no talk to expand the few airports available for civil use in China. A new five year plan promoting the development of non-commercial airway use provides an encouraging outlook for the private aviation market in China. The armed forces have also given up air space and airfields originally reserved for training, for civil aviation.
